Sixty-four Maryland athletes from fall teams named Academic All-Big Ten

Twenty-one football players were among the 64 Maryland student-athletes named to the Big Ten's All-Academic team on Wednesday.

To be eligible for the Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year and must be carrying a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Maryland had representatives from each of its six fall teams.

"We are very proud of the academic achievements our Maryland student-athletes accomplished this past fall semester," Terps athletic director Kevin Anderson said in a statement. "This is a true testament to their hard work and commitment in both their academic and athletic pursuits. Our dedicated student-athletes continue to be a source of pride as they strive to be the best."

The 21 Maryland football players selected are: redshirt freshman outside linebacker Jalen Brooks (marketing), redshirt senior quarterback C.J. Brown (business and management), redshirt senior center Sal Conaboy (business and management), senior defensive back Rashid Conteh (public policy), junior kicker Brad Craddock (family science), junior safety Zach Dancel (finance), redshirt sophomore tackle Michael Dunn (economics), senior linebacker Cole Farrand (economics), sophomore tight end P.J. Gallo (finance), redshirt freshman kicker Adam Greene (finance), redshirt sophomore quarterback Perry Hills (criminology and criminal justice), redshirt freshman offensive lineman Joe Marchese (engineering: materials science), redshirt sophomore tight end Brian McMahon (information systems-business), redshirt freshman offensive lineman Mike Minter (kinesiology), junior punter Nate Renfro (criminology and criminal justice), redshirt senior outside linebacker Matt Robinson (business and management), redshirt freshman tight end Eric Roca (letters & sciences), redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Maurice Shelton (engineering: electrical), senior punter Michael Tart (journalism), redshirt freshman safety J.T. Ventura (letters & sciences) and junior offensive lineman Andrew Zeller (criminology and criminal justice).
