A four-star prospect, Jones chose Maryland over offers from Penn State, Iowa, West Virginia and others. Rivals.com rates Jones as the 14th-best outside linebacker and the sixth-best prospect from Maryland in the Class of 2016.

Jones is the Terps' second Class of 2016 commitment, joining DeMatha running back and three-star prospect Lorenzo Harrison.
