Former Maryland basketball star Dez Wells has signed with Doxa Lefkadas B.C., which began play in 1982 and will be playing for the first time in the top division of the Greek Basket League.

The team is based on the island of Lefkadas, off Greece's western coast.

Wells, who went undrafted after being an All-Big Ten first-team selection as a senior in 2014-15, played last season with the Oklahoma City Blue, an NBA Development League affiliate of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

After playing on the Chicago Bulls' summer league team this year, Wells had an offer from a team in Germany but failed a physical because of hamstring problems that hindered him last season.
