Bullis quarterback Dwayne Haskins, the Maryland football team's No. 1 prospect in 2016, says he does not have a leader but that he has been following a few schools.

"I don't have a top five or anything, but the schools that are sticking out to me are Oklahoma; Alabama; and my in-state school, Maryland," Haskins said. "I also like Penn State and Rutgers, but there are a lot of schools that I like and I am not trying to shut people out. I am just trying to keep my options open and I am not trying to tell anybody no right now, but that is hard to do."

Haskins is one of the most highly recruited athletes in the country, with 39 offers.

"My first offer came in March of my sophomore year, and it is definitely mind-boggling, the amount of schools that are interested in me," Haskins said. "I am definitely living the dream, and it is unbelievable, really."

After playing as a freshman, Haskins took over the starting job at Bullis and is set to become a three-year starter this fall.

"It was a learning experience my freshman year, but at the end of my sophomore year, I started to really feel comfortable and pick up the system," said Haskins, who is on pace to qualify academically. "Then, going into my junior year, I just wanted to prove that my hype was real, and I want to thank all my teammates and, most importantly, God for helping me to get this far."

Last year, Haskins threw for 1,936 yards and 22 touchdowns, with just five interceptions. For his career, he has thrown for 3,809 yards and 40 scores.

"We run a versatile offense, and my skill set is to sit back in the pocket and pick you apart," Haskins said. "We don't run the zone-read [option], but I can run when I need to. If you watch Aaron Rodgers, I try to model my game after him a lot. I manage my team well. I get those first downs and I make the key plays to get the ball in the end zone. I make dynamic plays to keep plays alive and I make beautiful throws.

"I have been playing for so long, and I have been out there so long that I have a pretty good feel [for] what is going on out there. I just find the open guy and keep the chains moving."
