The C. Milton Wright boys soccer team clinched the UCBAC Chesapeake Division crown Thursday afternoon, but not without a serious challenge from visiting Aberdeen. Bel Air beat North Harford and winless Joppatowne lost to Elkton in other boys soccer Thursday.
The Mustangs (7-5 overall, 5-0 league) got an unassisted second half goal from Stephan Olaya to knock off the upset minded Eagles, 1-0. The Mustangs will meet Susquehanna Division champion Havre de Grace Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at Bel Air High School for the UCBAC championship..
Mustangs goalie Colin Miller had the shutout with four saves. Aberdeen (2-3, 6-5) got five saves from keeper Matt Mengel.
BEL AIR beats NORTH HARFORD
In a Chesapeake Division match shortened 20 minutes by bad weather, host Bel Air (4-1, 6-4) won, 3-1, over North Harford (1-4, 5-4-2).
Nat Hand scored twice and Carson Kalama had the other for Bel Air. Kalama also had two assists and Martin Palacious had one.
Winless JOPPATOWNE loses to winless Elkton
In a Susquehanna match between two winless teams, visiting Elkton beat Joppatowne, 3-0, in a game that was stopped early because of inclement weather. Elkton goals were scored by Nathan Page, Nikolai Diaz and Soceath Yun.
