The Blast announced Wednesday that they have re-signed veteran defender Pat Healey and signed Ricky Greensfelder and Marco Nascimento for the 2017-18 Major Arena Soccer League season.

Healey, a two-time MASL Defender of the Year, returns for his 10th season. Greensfelder, who is expected to play forward and midfield, is a Baltimore native who played at Archbishop Curley and Wake Forest.

Nascimento, a defender-midfielder from Sao Paulo, recently played in the Brazilian Serie B League with Oeste FC in 2013 and in the Copa Paulista League with Batatais FC in 2014.

“Pat will continue to give us the veteran leadership and the ability to both read the game and create out of the back that has been critical to our success,” Blast coach Danny Kelly said. “Ricky is a talented player who I believe has the technical ability to excel at the indoor game. Once he gets acclimated, I think he will have the potential to influence games.

“Marco Nascimento is a player I believe will have an immediate impact. He'll have to make the adjustment to the tight spaces and physicality, but seems to have the total package in terms of being able to find players, beat players 1 v 1, and defend as well.”

The Blast open the season in their new home, Towson University’s SECU Arena, on Friday, Nov. 10, against the Cedar Rapids Rampage.

Season tickets and five-game mini plans are on sale through the Blast office, and single-game tickets will go on sale Monday.

The Blast will host a fan day at SECU Arena on Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. All fans are welcome to see the arena and select their seats. For additional information on Blast tickets, call the Blast office at 410-73-BLAST (410-732-5278) or go to ticketmaster.com.
