Andrew Bordelon, who has guided Westminster (Mo.) College to appearances in the NCAA Division III tournament each of the past three seasons, was named coach at Stevenson.
Bordelon took over at Westminster in 2013 and guided the Blue Jays to the round of 16 of the NCAA tournament, the deepest run in program history, and a 13-9-1 record that included a Saint Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament title. He was named the NSCAA Central Region Coach of the Year.
Prior to Westminster, Bordelon was an assistant at Division II Drury in Springfield, Mo., his alma mater.
Bordelon also has Premier Development League coaching experience, serving as head coach of Springfield Synergy FC in the summer of 2015, guiding the club to the winningest season in program history.

Panthers sign Oher to 3-year extension
The Carolina Panthers signed former Ravens offensive tackle Michael Oher on Friday to a three-year contract extension through 2019. According to Pro Football Talk, the deal is worth $21.6 million, including $9.5 million guaranteed. Oher, 30, who was drafted by the Ravens 23rd overall in 2009, started every game with the team for five seasons before leaving in 2014 for the Tennessee Titans. He played last season with the NFC champion Panthers.

College football: Maryland missed out on three-star IMG Academy (Fla.) wide receiver Emmanuel Greene, who announced that he is committing orally to Central Florida over a group of schools that included UCLA, West Virginia, Nebraska, Louisville and Texas A&M.
Earlier this spring, Maryland got two commitments from Greene's IMG Academy teammates in five-star defensive end Joshua Kaindoh and four-star defensive tackle Cam Spence, who has since transferred to St. John's (Washington).

Men's volleyball: Outside hitter Aaron Russell of Ellicott City made his first appearance of the season with the U.S. national volleyball team, starting the first three sets and scoring seven points on seven kills, in a 23-25, 25-13, 27-25, 26-24, win over Iran on Friday night in World League pool play in Rio de Janeiro. The Americans improved to 2-0 heading into a match Saturday night against host and world No. 1 Brazil (2-0).
Boxing: Light welterweight Gary Russell of Capitol Heights beat Ukraine's Victor Petrov, 3-0, in a first-round light welterweight (141-pound) match at the world Olympic qualifying event in Baku, Azerbaijan. Russell will face Ethiopia's Girmachew Bahiru Tadesse on Sunday.
WNBA: Angel McCoughtry (St. Frances) made two free throws with three seconds left in overtime to finish with 22 points and the host Atlanta Dream beat the Chicago Sky, 101-97.
