Digest (Jan. 18): Washington Spirit select seven players in NWSL draft

The Washington Spirit selected seven players in Thursday's National Women's Soccer League college draft. Washington's selections included two first-round picks: midfielder Andi Sullivan (No. 1 overall) from Stanford and forward Rebecca Quinn (No. 3 overall) from Duke. The Spirit picked defender-forward Schuyler DeBree (No.11 overall) from Duke and forward Mallory Eubanks (No. 16 overall) from Mississippi State in the second round; defender Brittany Basinger (No. 21 overall) from Penn State and midfielder Maddie Huster (No. 26 overall) from Wake Forest in the third; and midfielder Rachel Moore (No. 31 overall) from William & Mary in the fourth.

Orioles: Individual game tickets for the 2018 season at Oriole Park at Camden Yards will go on sale Thursday at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available online at orioles.com/tickets, by phone at 1-888-848-BIRD and on-site at Oriole Park and the Orioles Official Team Store at the York Galleria in York, Pa.

Men's college lacrosse: Stevenson will host a competitive one-day prospective camp for student-athletes on Feb. 18 at Mustang Stadium from noon to 4 p.m. The camp is open to high school players who will graduate in the class of 2019 and 2020. Cost for the camp is $125.Including in the camp is a tactical skills session, full-field scrimmages, campus tours and a recruiting question and answer seminar. Boxing: Jake Smith's Baltimore Boxing will host the "Super Brawl of Boxing" on Jan. 26 at Michael's Eighth Ave in Glen Burnie. Baltimore Boxing is also pleased to announce that five-time world champion and the subject of the movie "Bleed for This" Vinny Paz will be on hand to meet fans. Paz is a regular at Baltimore Boxing cards and local fight fans have adopted him as if he were one of their own. This Olympic style boxing card is headlined by a title unification between Maryland State Middleweight champ Deshawn Chase of Baltimore Boxing and East Coast belt holder Marquis Moore of Salisbury's Main Street Boxing Gym. This card also features the debut of former Maryland and NFL linebacker Leon Joe. The event also serves as a fundraiser for Tina Frost, who was shot during the mass shooting in Las Vegas last year. College baseball: Mount St. Mary's will host a fundraising banquet Feb. 17 at 6 p.m. the Links of Gettysburg. Girls lacrosse: Georgetown University will hold its Spring Clinic on April 8 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at Cooper Field on the Georgetown campus. This clinic is open to all high school girls in the classes of 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021, as well as the class of 2022. The 2018 Georgetown Hoyas Women's Lacrosse Overnight Camp will be held June 25-27. The camp is designed for experienced players entering grades 7-12. Graduated high school seniors are welcome as well. Two goalie training sessions will be taught by collegiate goalie coaches on staff. The program will run in conjunction with the overnight camp.
