Outlook: The Blast, first place in the Major Arena Soccer League’s Eastern Division, will look to win their fifth straight home game and avenge their only loss of the season – a 5-4 setback in Florida on Nov. 18. The two-time defending MASL champions haven’t completely looked the part so far this season, but have still been finding ways to win most games. Last weekend, the Blast handled the Ontario Fury, 8-5, and then needed three unanswered goals in the fourth quarter to rally for a 5-4 win against the winless St. Louis Ambush, which has lost 20 straight games dating back to last season. Captain Tony Donatelli scored five goals in last weekend’s two wins and goalkeeper William Vanzela combined to stop 32 shots against the two opponents. The Tropics have a formidable offense led by Freddy Moojen (four goals, six assists) and added veteran star Ricardinho, who last played with the Dallas Sidekicks. The Blast will come into the game with decidedly fresher legs as the Tropics have a road game against the Syracuse Silver Knights on Saturday night.
