Outlook: The Blast will try to make it three straight wins against the expansion Tropics as they look to further pad their lead in the Major Arena Soccer League's Eastern Division. Both wins — 7-1 on Nov. 18 at home and 5-1 on Dec. 3 in Florida — unfolded in the same manner with the Blast taking over close games with dominating fourth quarters. Last Saturday, the game was scoreless at the half before the Blast scored the opening goal in the third quarter and then took charge in the fourth. Blast captain Tony Donatelli, who has a team-high 12 points with four goals and eight assists, finished with one goal and two assists, while goalie William Vanzela had 17 saves and didn't allow a Tropics goal until 3:05 remained in the game. Vanzela leads the league with a 3.02 goals against average. Expect a faster start from the home team on Saturday. The Blast are more familiar and talented and will come into the game with fresher legs as the Tropics played at St. Louis on Friday. The Blast will be without defender Elton de Oliveira, whose father died this week. The Blast have a 1 1/2 game lead on the Tropics, Harrisburg Heat (2-3) and Syracuse Silver Knights (1-2).
