Outlook: The Blast, which has wrapped up the Major Arena Soccer League's Eastern Division, closes its regular-season home schedule with back-to-back games against Chicago and Harrisburg this weekend. The Blast bounced back from its first two losses of the season with an 11-0 home win over the Rochester Lancers last Friday. It was the third shutout of the season for goalkeeper William Vanzela, who improved to 13-2 and lowered his league-best goals-against average to 3.02 per game. It will be the Blast's first meeting against the Mustangs, who are in third place in the Central Division and assured of a playoff spot. On Saturday, the Blast will take on a Heat team it has handled comfortably in two previous wins. The Blast blanked the Heat, 27-0, in a home win Nov. 21, then claimed a 29-8 victory in Harrisburg on Jan. 3. Tony Donatelli leads the Blast in scoring with 12 goals and 13 assists (25 points), and Lucas Roque has a team-high 16 goals. After this weekend, the Blast has two road games left before the start of the MASL playoffs in March.
