Bottom line is Nelson is a quality, experienced player who we feel can step right in and help us compete for a championship again this season," Blast coach Danny Kelly said in a press release.

The Blast announced its 20-game 2016-17 Major Arena Soccer League regular-season schedule Tuesday, opening the campaign on the road against the Harrisburg Heat on Nov. 5.
