Blast set to open conference championship series in Missouri on Thursday

The Comets went 3-0 against the Blast during the regular season.

The Blast will open the Major Arena Soccer League's Eastern Conference championship series at Missouri on Thursday to take on the Comets in a rematch of last year's conference final. Game time is set for 8:05 p.m. at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena.

The Blast returns home for Game 2 on Tuesday with game time set for 7:05 p.m. at Royal Farms Arena. If the series is tied after the second game, a sudden-victory 15-minute mini-game will immediately follow to determine which team advances to the league championship.

During the regular season, the Comets won all three meetings against the Blast by a combined four goals.

It's the fourth straight year the teams have met in the postseason. The first two came in the championship round while playing in the Major Indoor Soccer League — with each team winning one title. Last season, the Blast defeated the Comets, 2-0, in the new MASL conference final before falling to Monterrey in the championship series.

Tickets for Game 2 can be purchased through TicketMaster or by calling the Blast office at 410-558-4295.
