Steve Smith Sr. doubtful for Sunday's game against Cleveland

The Ravens have stopped short of ruling Steve Smith Sr. out for Sunday.

While Ravens coach John Harbaugh had said in a television interview last week that Steve Smith Sr. wouldn’t play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns and offensive coordinator Marc Trestman reiterated that Thursday, the veteran receiver was officially listed as doubtful for the game on the final injury report.

Players who are listed as doubtful have a 25 percent chance or less of playing.

Harbaugh didn’t specifically address Smith’s current status Friday, but he did say that he’s “very optimistic” that the 36-year-old won’t be out too long. Smith sustained microfractures in his back in last week's victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“He's working hard and he's in there with the different equipment working really hard to get himself ready and making, I would say, good progress,” Harbaugh said.

Wide receiver Breshad Perriman (knee), tight end Crockett Gillmore (calf) and defensive end Chris Canty (calf) have been ruled out for the Browns’ game. It will be Gillmore’s second consecutive game on the sideline and the third straight for Canty. Rookie tight end Maxx Williams and defensive end Lawrence Guy are expected to start in their places.

Running back Lorenzo Taliaferro (foot), offensive linemen Eugene Monroe (concussion) and Marshal Yanda (ankle) and linebacker Albert McClellan (abdomen) are probable.

For the Browns, linebacker Craig Robertson (ankle) and safety Tashaun Gipson (ankle) have been ruled out. Running back Shaun Draughn (back) is doubtful and star cornerback Joe Haden (ribs/finger) is one of six Browns listed as questionable.
