Omar Brown back on Ravens' practice squad

Rookie safety Omar Brown has rejoined the Ravens' practice squad after being cut last week and subsequently trying out for the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 5-foot-11, 195-pound defensive back was released when the Ravens signed quarterback Dennis Dixon to the practice squad prior to a 13-10 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Another spot opened up when the Ravens placed safety Christian Thompson on injured reserve with a minor knee injury and elevated safety Anthony Levine to the active roster from the practice squad.

Brown had a strong preseason, intercepting one pass and was constantly around the football despite a lack of ideal stopwatch speed.

Brown ran the 40-yard dash in a relatively pedestrian 4.7 seconds coming out of Marshall.

Brown had 288 career tackles, nine interceptions, 29 pass defelctions, five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery as an All-Conference USA selection for the Thundering Herd.
