Florida State cornerback P.J. Williams to visit Ravens, sources say

The Ravens drafted two Florida State defensive players a year ago, selecting defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan in the second round and safety Terrence Brooks in the third round.

Now the Ravens are looking into another Seminoles defensive standout, as cornerback P.J. Williams is set to visit them before the draft, according to league sources.

Williams met with the Ravens informally at the NFL scouting combine.

Williams is one of the top five cornerback prospects after declaring early for the draft following his junior season.

At the combine, Williams didn't run as fast as expected with a 4.57 time in the 40-yard dash. In the past, he'd been clocked at around 4.4. He did have a 40-inch vertical leap at the combine, bench pressed 225 pounds 12 times and had an 11-foot broad jump.

There's a viral video of Williams doing a box jump in a training session.

The 6-foot, 194-pound Williams was an All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection and was named the Defensive Most Valuable Player in the 2014 BCS national championship game when he recorded seven tackles and an interception.

Williams played through hamstring problems last season but finished with 74 tackles (6.5 for loss) and one interception.

As a sophomore two years ago, Williams had three interceptions and led the team with 10 passes defended. He also played for the Seminoles as a true freshman.

Williams has also visited the Detroit Lions.

"I definitely think somewhere at the top," Williams said at the combine when asked where he rates among the other cornerbacks. "Hopefully, I'll go as high as I can. Because of my physicality and the cornerback position, and being athletic enough to run with wide receivers and with me having the ability to make a lot of tackles.”
