Ravens defensive end Chris Canty won't return to Sunday's game after a pectoral strain.

Ravens defensive end Chris Canty left Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks with a strained pectoral muscle, and will not return, the team announced.

Canty, the veteran presence on the defensive line for the Ravens, had strung together a pair of strong games recently, but didn't have a tackle in Sunday's game.

Canty suffered the injury on the first drive of the second half, when the Seahawks extended their lead to 21-6 with a 22-yard touchdown reception by receiver Doug Baldwin.

His absence means a bigger role for reserve defensive ends Lawrence Guy and Brent Urban this week, and could create a roster spot on gameday for Kapron Lewis-Moore or Carl Davis going forward if Canty can't play in any of the remaining three games.

Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil and inside linebacker Zachary Orr both received medical attention on the sidelines as well, but returned to the game.
