Cundiff prepared for wet conditions in Seattle

The forecast for the Ravens’ game against the Seattle Seahawks for Sunday is calling for a 40 percent of showers and highs reaching only the upper 40s.

Those conditions could directly impact kicker Billy Cundiff, who has already missed one more field goal this season than the three field goals he missed last season.

Fortunately, Cundiff has experienced kicking at what is now called CenturyLink Field. As a member of the Dallas Cowboys, he converted all three field-goal attempts and helped the Cowboys escape with a 43-39 win on Dec. 6, 2004.

“The ball gets pretty heavy there,” Cundiff said Thursday. “The last time I played there was in December, so it was really cold and damp. I don’t think it’s going to be as cold. The ball doesn’t carry as well there just because you’re right there on the water and the air is real heavy. I think it’s supposed to rain during the game, which is par for the course. The saving grace is that it has turf. So at least you can get some decent footing.”
