Missing third straight game "disappointing" to Grubbs

For the third consecutive game, Ben Grubbs was unable to play, and the starting left guard was unhappy that his toe injury sidelined him for the Ravens’ 34-17 rout of the New York Jets Sunday night.

“Yeah, very disappointing,” Grubbs said of his reaction to being deactivated for the third straight week. “I’m not used to missing games. That’s not something that I do. I pride myself on being reliable for my teammates. So not being able to go is definitely disappointing.”

Grubbs has been troubled by strained ligaments in his toe, and he left the team’s locker room Sunday night with a protective brace around his right foot.

Grubbs will try to take advantage of the bye week to properly heal the toe, but he sounded a little frustrated at the slow pace of recovery.

“It’s not like I’ve been practicing or anything. I’ve been giving it rest,” said Grubbs, who was limited in practice on Thursday before missing Friday’s session. “So I’m going to continue the course and let it do its work. Going to just continue praying and hopefully, God will continue to heal me.”
