Baltimore Ravens

With Ravens QB Lamar Jackson ailing, Steelers are home favorites in Week 14 matchup

The Steelers are field goal favorites over the Ravens ahead of their game Sunday in Pittsburgh, according to Las Vegas sportsbooks.

The Ravens (8-4) were initially favored in the Week 14 matchup entering this past weekend, but quarterback Lamar Jackson left the team’s narrow win over the Denver Broncos with a knee injury. Even before coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Jackson was unlikely to play against Pittsburgh, the betting line had flipped, with the Steelers (5-7) now favored by three points.

Pittsburgh has won three of its past four games and is in the middle of its first winning streak this season. After beating the Indianapolis Colts in Week 12, the Steelers won their second straight road game, holding on to top the Atlanta Falcons, 19-16, on Sunday.

Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett, who replaced Mitchell Trubisky in early October, is 4-4 as a starter. He’s completed 65.2% of his passes for four touchdowns and eight interceptions and rushed 42 times for 209 yards and three touchdowns this season.

The Ravens have struggled to live up to expectations at home this season, but they’re 4-2 against the spread in road games this season. According to CBS Sports, they’re also 5-2-1 against the spread in their past eight trips to Pittsburgh.

The Steelers lead the all-time series 32-24 and have won four straight meetings. They handed the visiting Ravens the first of what became six straight losses in Week 13 last year, then edged them in overtime of their regular-season finale in Baltimore.
