Ravens confirm WR Jeremy Maclin did not practice Tuesday

The Ravens confirmed Jeremy Maclin’s absence at what amounted to a walk-through at Tuesday’s afternoon practice. The starting wide receiver suffered an injury to his left knee in the first quarter of Sunday’s 27-10 victory at the Cleveland Browns.

In his first season with the Ravens, Maclin has battled shoulder and stinger injuries, but still ranks second on the offense in receiving yards (440) and touchdown catches (three), and fourth in receptions (40). If he can’t make his 13th start of the year against the Indianapolis Colts at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, Chris Moore would likely start with Mike Wallace in the unit’s two-receiver sets, and Moore and Breshad Perriman could join Wallace in three-receiver alignments.

The team estimated that three players were limited at the walk-through. Those three players were defensive end Carl Davis (shoulder), nickel cornerback Maurice Canady (knee), and defensive back Anthony Levine Sr. (thigh). Davis was initially thought to have suffered a leg injury in the first half of Sunday’s win.

Since Brent Urban went down with a Lisfranc foot injury that ended his season Sept. 24, Davis has started eight games, including six of the past seven. He has made a career-high 17 tackles and added a half-sack.

Indianapolis practiced without a pair of starters in wide receiver Donte Moncrief (ankle) and right tackle Denzelle Good (knee). Moncrief, who ranks third on the offense in receptions (26) and receiving yards (391), has sat out the past two games.

Starting cornerback Rashaan Melvin, a former Raven, returned to practice albeit on a limited basis for the first time since injuring his left hand Nov. 26 against the Tennessee Titans.

Inside linebacker Jeremiah George (neck) practiced fully. He is listed on the depth chart behind starter Jon Bostic, who was placed on injured reserve Monday after suffering a right knee injury in the second half of Thursday night’s 25-13 loss to the Denver Broncos.
