Starting left guard Kelechi Osemele, who has missed the past two games with a knee injury, returned to practice Wednesday. He was listed as a full participant, a good sign for the Ravens who played Monday's game without three starting offensive linemen.

Only three Ravens didn't participate in practice: wide receiver Marlon Brown (back), tight end Maxx Williams (concussion) and offensive tackle Eugene Monroe (shoulder). Brown, who sat out Monday's game, said that he's dealing with a different back injury than the one that slowed him in the preseason.

Tucker tackles, too

Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has never been shy about getting involved in kick coverage. However, when Browns kick returner Justin Gilbert broke free along the sideline late in the third quarter Monday, Tucker really didn't have a choice.

One of the final Ravens to have a shot at making a tackle, Tucker upended Gilbert at the Browns' 34-yard line with a low hit that sent the return man spiraling to the ground. Gilbert sustained a concussion on the play.

"More than anything, I was thinking, 'Well, OK, I just have to blow up a play and see what happens,'" Tucker said. "I'll use the sideline and the sideline can be my best friend in that situation. As I was running through there, I went right past the off returner, which I wasn't really expecting. I was expecting him to pick up the block. But I went right through him, and I'm already moving at least what I felt like was fast. Just got the guy down. Hopefully, he's all right because it's always a scary injury."

End zone

Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that Joe Flacco is still waiting for the swelling to go down before he has surgery on his left knee. Flacco put out a statement Wednesday on his official Facebook account, thanking everybody for their support and saying that he "should be good as new." … The Ravens pumped up the heat in their indoor practice facility to simulate the expected warm conditions Sunday at Sun Life Stadium in Miami. … The Ravens re-signed running back Terrence Magee and wide receiver/returner Chuck Jacobs to the practice squad. … Injured wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. is the Ravens' nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award.
