Ravens coach John Harbaugh covers bill for entire Baltimore restaurant at charity event

It’s been a good month for goodwill in the Ravens organization.

Days after pending free-agent cornerback Pierre Desir and former Ravens quarterback Robert Griffin III donated over 31,000 meals to Texas food banks amid the state’s energy crisis, coach John Harbaugh helped deliver a few smiles, too.

After dining out at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood during a charity fundraiser Tuesday night, Harbaugh covered the bill for the whole restaurant. WJZ reported that the tab was “at least a couple thousand dollars.” Harbaugh also took pictures with customers.

Harbaugh, who’s entering his 14th season in Baltimore, is one of several notable Ravens who have contributed to Jimmy’s Famous Seafood’s efforts to support small Baltimore restaurants struggling amid the coronavirus pandemic. The restaurant tweeted Wednesday that its Famous Fund nonprofit organization has raised over $450,000.

“As Baltimoreans, we are extremely fortunate to have The Harbaugh Family consistently setting such a fine example,” the restaurant wrote. “Class, grit, and compassion have always been cherished qualities in Charm City — and Coach Harbs embodies all 3!”
