Ravens DL coach Joe Cullen to join Jaguars as defensive coordinator, per reports

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh discusses the many challenges from the 2020 NFL season.

Ravens defensive line coach Joe Cullen is joining the Jacksonville Jaguars as the team’s next defensive coordinator, according to multiple reports, making him the third defensive assistant to leave the staff since the season ended.

Cullen had spent the last five seasons with the Ravens. In Jacksonville, Cullen will work under new head coach Urban Meyer and return to a franchise where he served as defensive line coach from 2010-12. This will be Cullen’s first NFL coordinator opportunity. He previously served as defensive coordinator at Richmond and Indiana.

The Ravens also lost former linebackers coach Mike Macdonald, who joined Michigan as its defensive coordinator. And defensive backs coach Jesse Minter is expected to join Vanderbilt as its defensive coordinator, according to multiple reports.

Coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday at his season-ending news conference that he expects to retain offensive coordinator Greg Roman and defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale, barring any late calls for a head coaching opportunity.
