Safety DeShon Elliott leads Ravens in 2020 peformance-based pay

Ravens starting safety DeShon Elliott led the team in performance-based pay last season, according to NFL Players Association data released Tuesday.

Under a formula that rewards players with lower base salaries, Elliott will receive a $557,477 bonus, just ahead of left guard Bradley Bozeman ($543,002). A 2018 sixth-round pick, Elliott started 16 games last season and played 98% of the Ravens’ defensive snaps while earning $750,000 in salary.

Because of the NFL’s salary cap shortfall in 2020, the payments are deferred until at least 2024.

Right tackle Orlando Brown Jr. ($477,211), offensive lineman Patrick Mekari ($321,860) and inside linebacker Chris Board ($305,956) also will get at least $300,000 in performance-based pay. Quarterback Lamar Jackson will receive a $194,921 bonus.
