During a red-zone exercise, the offense picked on free safety Tom Zbikowski, who was participating in his first practice of training camp and filling in for seven-time Pro Bowl selection Ed Reed. On two occasions, the offense matched up 6-foot-4 tight end Ed Dickson against the 5-11 Zbikowski, and both times quarterback Joe Flacco lofted high passes for Dickson to catch.
Before Flacco's second touchdown toss to Dickson, Zbikowski and cornerback Domonique Foxworth squeezed rookie wide receiver Torrey Smith in the back of the end zone, and Zbikowski intercepted Flacco's pass.
After collecting 17.5 sacks Wednesday, the defense compiled 11 more. Rookie outside linebacker Sergio Kindle had two sacks, and outside linebacker Jarret Johnson got 1.5 sacks. Rookie defensive end Pernell McPhee got to rookie quarterback Tyrod Taylor in the end zone for the safety.
Right tackle Oniel Cousins and center Bryan Mattison returned for their first practice, and both have had better days. Cousins moved early once and was tossed aside by defensive tackle Arthur Jones. Mattison, filling in for injured center Matt Birk, was also flagged for a false start, and he botched an exchange with Flacco that drew the ire of offensive line coach Andy Moeller.
Defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano isn't shy about voicing his feelings. After running back Jalen Parmele ripped off a long gain, Pagano screamed at his defense: "We're better than that! Nobody runs on us!" Later during practice, Pagano called in a play audible enough for everyone to hear. Someone must have questioned the wisdom of doing that because Pagano responded: "I don't care if [the offensive players] know! Hey, just whip their [butts]!"
After making 23 straight field goals before missing his final one Tuesday, kicker Billy Cundiff absorbed a couple more miscues, going 8-for-10. He went 1-for-1 between 20-29 yards, 3-for-3 between 30-39 yards and 3-for-3 between 40-49 yards. Cundiff was just 1-for-3 from beyond 50 yards, converting a 52-yarder before sending attempts of 51 and 55 yards wide left on back-to-back tries.

"You guys want to bring out the real me? You'll get him!" – An irate coach John Harbaugh after several special-teams players failed to appear for practice on time, which delayed the start of Thursday's workout.
