Ravens add to undrafted-rookie class, sign son of former wrestling champion Rick Steiner

Columnist Mike Preston and Ravens beat writer Jonas Shaffer discuss their evaluation of the Ravens 2020 draft picks.

The Ravens on Friday signed two undrafted free agents, including the son of former professional wrestling champion Rick Steiner.

Kennesaw State fullback Bronson Rechsteiner finished with 112 carries for 909 yards and seven touchdowns last season, along with eight catches for 101 yards. The 5-foot-10, 223-pound Rechsteiner started 11 games for the Owls and averaged 6.1 yards per carry over his career.

Robert Rechsteiner, better known by his ring name, Rick Steiner, and nickname, “The Dog-Faced Gremlin,” was a World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Federation tag team champion in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

The Ravens also signed Redlands cornerback Jeff Hector, whose eight interceptions last season were the most in Division III. He returned three picks for a touchdown and helped lead the Bulldogs to a postseason appearance. The 6-0, 175-pound Hector appeared in 20 games and made 11 starts over his two-year career at Redlands.
