Ravens DE Yannick Ngakoue, CB Jimmy Smith among starters questionable vs. Bengals

Ravens' Harbaugh on punter Sam Koch being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 the signing punter Johnny Townsend.

With a playoff berth on the line, a handful of Ravens starters are questionable for Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Center Patrick Mekari (back), wide receiver Willie Snead IV (ankle) and defensive end Yannick Ngakoue (thigh) missed all three practices this week, meaning they’re unlikely to be active. They were among 10 players listed as questionable on the team’s injury report Friday.

On offense, running back Gus Edwards (back) and right tackle D.J. Fluker (knee) are questionable after being limited in practice Friday, their only setback this week. Running back Mark Ingram II returned to practice as a full participant after missing the previous two days with an illness.

Defensive end Calais Campbell (calf) and cornerback Marcus Peters (calf) practiced in full Thursday and Friday. Peters, an All-Pro selection last season, had not practiced for over two weeks before returning Wednesday.

“It’s good to see him out there,” coach John Harbaugh said Friday. “We’ll just see how it plays out. These things are always just how you respond the next day to the workload and things like that, but having him out at practice is obviously important. It’s a big step, and I feel very good about that.”

Cornerback Jimmy Smith (ribs/shoulder), who was limited Thursday and Friday, was last active in Week 14 and has played just 33 defensive snaps over the past five weeks. Harbaugh said he was “looking forward to getting [Smith] back on the field here ASAP for our team right now.”

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey (knee/shoulder) was a full participant Friday, his second straight day of upgraded participation.

The Ravens are also expected to be without punter Sam Koch, who was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.

The Bengals ruled out just two players: starting cornerback Williams Jackson III (concussion) and starting middle linebacker Logan Wilson (ankle). Cincinnati on Thursday placed reserve offensive lineman B.J. Finney on the reserve/nonfootball injury list with an abdominal injury.
