Ravens elevate practice squad OT David Sharpe for game vs. Bengals

The Ravens on Saturday activated practice squad offensive tackle David Sharpe for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sharpe, who joined the Ravens’ practice squad about a month ago, has six starts and 34 appearances over four-plus NFL seasons. He started twice last year for the Washington Football Team, which waived him at the end of training camp. Andre Smith was not eligible for another practice squad elevation and would have had to be added to the 53-man roster.

Left tackle Alejandro Villanueva (knee) was limited in practice but is expected to start in the Ravens’ AFC North opener. Reserve Tyre Phillips also has experience as tackle.

Cincinnati elevated inside linebacker Joe Bachie from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game.
