Terrell Suggs' day started with him talking trash to the running backs and it ended with him making an acrobatic interception of Joe Flacco and then tossing the ball into the stands.
"That's kind of his trademark interception, right?" Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "I saw Anthony Levine and I said, 'I guess he's back.' We heard him before that."
When Suggs returned to the practice field Monday after spending the first couple of weeks of training camp on the PUP list, he said very little and he played very few snaps. However, each day has brought more activity and more words from Suggs, who verbally targeted a variety of people Wednesday, including one of the referees and offensive line coach Juan Castillo.
"He talks to whoever is walking by, it doesn't matter," Ravens tight end Crockett Gillmore said. "Even as a rookie, you hear him before you see him, but you also know who it is. It's not like it's some random person. He has that demeanor, and he backs it up."
Gillmore said that Suggs' highlight-reel interception came on a play that the offense hasn't run all camp.
"Dude is a freak," defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan said of Suggs.
Harbaugh praised Suggs as well, saying that the team's longest-tenured player is in "excellent condition" after rehabbing his torn Achilles.
End zone: Harbaugh said a decision has been made about whether quarterback Joe Flacco will play in Saturday's preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts, but he declined to reveal it. … Asked whether he sees any difference in Flacco since his knee injury, Gillmore said, "He's still elite, if that's what your question is." … The Ravens-Colts game will air live nationally on NFL Network. … Former defensive end Michael McCrary, a member of the team's "Ring of Honor," attended Wednesday's practice.
