Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs returned to practice Friday after being sidelined the previous two days with a lingering groin injury.

Suggs has downplayed the severity of the injury, which he first incurred against the Cleveland Browns two games ago.

Meanwhile, veteran defensive end Chris Canty hasn't practiced all week because of an illness and knee injury. He didn't practice all of last week and then started and played 29 snaps against the Carolina Panthers with four tackles and one pass deflection.

Rookie defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan remains out with a knee meniscus injury and is expected to miss his third consecutive game since getting hurt against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jernigan has been unable to do many activities since the injury, including driving. He's still expected to return at some point this season, according to a source.

Left tackle Eugene Monroe will miss his second consecutive game after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery last week. Monroe is expected to miss at least a month, according to a source.

Running back Bernard Pierce (quadriceps), cornerback Lardarius Webb (lower back) and cornerback Chykie Brown (neck) are all practicing.

Webb has moved well in practice this week. The Ravens haven't ruled out having him try to play Sunday after holding him out last week against the Panthers. He played just four snaps against the Browns and was ineffective and immobile before being pulled.
