Ravens Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs returned to practice Friday after missing the first two practices of the week with a groin injury.

Suggs is expected to play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers. The 2011 NFL Defensive Player of the Year jogged briskly onto the practice field and didn't appear to be in any kind of discomfort. Suggs downplayed the severity of the injury suffered last week against the Cleveland Browns.

Meanwhile, defensive end Chris Canty missed his third consecutive practice with knee and calf injuries. Canty is expected to be a game-time decision against the Panthers.

Rookie defensive tackle Timmy Jernigan (meniscus) and offensive tackle Eugene Monroe (knee surgery) aren't practicing this week.

Cornerbacks Jimmy Smith (knee, ankle) and Lardarius Webb (lower back) and running back Bernard Pierce (quadriceps) continue to participate fully in practice.

Tight end Owen Daniels and wide receiver Steve Smith practiced Friday after being rested Thursday for non-injury reasons.
