Wide receiver Tandon Doss rejoining Ravens

The Ravens brought back wide receiver Tandon Doss on Monday, cutting reserve linebacker and special teams player Robert James in order to make room on the roster.

The move was first reported by The Baltimore Sun.

Doss adds depth at wide receiver for the Ravens, with Pro Bowl kick returner Jacoby Jones sidelined for the next four to six weeks with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Doss has familiarity with the offensive schemes and can also help on special teams with Jones out.

The Ravens cut Doss during the final major roster cutdown before the season. Since being released, Doss worked out for the Green Bay Packers and wasn't signed to a contract.

A 2011 fourth-round draft pick from Indiana, Doss caught seven passes for 123 yards and one touchdown last season. He had an up-and-down preseason after entering training camp expected to compete for a starting job.

Now, he gets another chance with his old team.

A former Atlanta Falcons player, James was only with the team for a week.
