The Ravens will find out what their receiving corps can do without Steve Smith Sr. against the Washington Redskins: The offense's best threat in the passing game will miss the remainder of Sunday's game because of an ankle injury.

Smith injured his ankle while laying out for a sensational catch that gained 7 yards and a first down late in the first quarter. He left the field after that grab, had his ankle wrapped and tried several times to test the ankle with some light jogging behind the team's bench.

But Smith did not return to the field in the first half and did not come out of the locker room after halftime. Shortly thereafter, the Ravens announced that he was out.

The Ravens haven’t exactly found the same electricity with their pre-game introductions since No. 52 retired.

Smith, the team's leading receiver with 24 receptions for 281 yards and one touchdown this season, had caught three passes for 29 yards. Fellow wideouts Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman have combined for five catches for 38 yards midway through the third quarter.

Tight end Dennis Pitta leads the offense with four receptions for 43 yards.
