Ravens veteran wide receiver Steve Smith and cornerback Jimmy Smith were fined $8,268 apiece by the NFL for rule infractions against the Atlanta Falcons.
Steve Smith was fined for grabbing a Falcons player by the helmet opening and throwing him to the ground. The five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver was called for unnecessary roughness.
Jimmy Smith was fined for a facemask penalty in the fourth quarter. He was given a 15-yard penalty on his tackle of Falcons wide receiver Devin Hester.
Meanwhile, Falcons fullback Patrick DiMarco wasn't fined for his illegal block below the waist penalty in the fourth quarter. Ravens long snapper Morgan Cox tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee on the play.
Cox is having surgery to repair the damage and is out for the season. He was placed on injured reserve Monday and the Ravens signed long snapper Kevin McDermott as his replacement.
