MOBILE, Ala. — The Ravens interviewed former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan for their offensive coordinator vacancy Monday, according to league sources.
The Ravens have previously interviewed former Washington Redskins and Houston Texans offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan along with several other candidates since former offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell accepted the Lions' head coaching job last week.
Linehan was the Lions' offensive coordinator for the past five seasons, designing game plans and calling the plays for an offense headlined by quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receiver Calvin Johnson and running back Reggie Bush.
Linehan was fired along with coach Jim Schwartz following a 7-9 season.
The Lions ranked sixth in total offense last season, third overall in 2012, fifth in 2011, 17th in 2010 and 26th in 2009.
Linehan was previously the St. Louis Rams head coach, where he went 11-25 from 2006 to 2008 before being fired. He was hired by the Lions in 2009.
Linehan has previous stints as an offensive coordinator with the Miami Dolphins and the Minnesota Viings.
Linehan played quarterback at Idaho and went to training camp as an undrafted rookie in 1987 with the Dallas Cowboys before being released.
