Drafted by the Cardinals in 2012 out of Oklahoma, Fleming had 168 tackles, seven interceptions, two touchdowns and a sack for the Sooners. As a junior, he was the Defensive Most Valuable Player of the 2011 Fiesta Bowl.
As the Ravens brought in Fleming, former Ravens cornerback Dominique Franks tried out for the Tennessee Titans. It was the Titans who tried to convince Cox to sign with them before he rejoined the Ravens on a one-year, $730,000 contract.
Former Ravens wide receiver Jace Davis tried out for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Former Ravens defensive tackle Derrick Hopkins tried out for the Washington Redskins.
Meanwhile, the Ravens reached an injury settlement with rookie offensive tackle Brett Van Sloten and removed him from injured reserve. The terms of his injury settlement weren't immediately known. Van Sloten had a sprained medial collateral ligament.
However, the Ravens reached a $58,765 injury settlement with former fullback Shaun Chapas that removed him from injured reserve. Chapas had a shoulder injury during the preseason.
