Ravens, Verizon Wireless team up in recognition of domestic violence

The Ravens and Verizon Wireless will team up to host a HopeLine wireless-phone recycling drive at Sunday's game at M&T Bank Stadium against the Atlanta Falcons. The annual event, now in its third year, recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Fans are encouraged to donate no-longer-in-use wireless devices, chargers and accessories to Verizon's HopeLine Wireless Phone Recycling Program.

The donations directly impact domestic-violence prevention and benefit survivors of abuse in form of cash grants and free wireless phones for emergency use.

Through the HopeLine program, Verizon Wireless has collected more than 10 million phones and donated more than $21 million to domestic-violence prevention organizations around the country. Several Maryland-based groups, including the House of Ruth, have benefited from the program.

Collection bins will be set up at the Verizon Wireless booth along Ravens Walk, in the suite lobby near Gate A, and in Gates B and D. There also will be a drop-off area set up at the club-level concierge desk.
