Ravens special-teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg plays role of bouncer during Steve Smith-Kenny Vaccaro brawl

When wide receiver Steve Smith drove New Orleans Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro back into the Ravens' bench area in a wild altercation Monday night, the incident brought Ravens special-teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg back to his days as a bouncer during his younger days.

The imposing, 59-year-old former North Dakota State All-American linebacker helped restore order as he quickly found himself in the middle of the scrum.

"Well, I was a bouncer back in 1976," Rosburg said. "That's probably the last time I got paid for being a bouncer. I've been in a few hockey fights, but probably not since then.

"I was saying the right things. I was trying to keep the peace as best I could. It came to me. I didn't go seek it. It landed on my lap. At first, I defended myself and then I tried to help others."
