The Ravens have signed veteran cornerback Antoine Cason, the team announced.
The move was first reported by The Baltimore Sun.
The Ravens have a need for depth at the position with nickel back Danny Gorrer out for the season with torn medial collateral and posterior cruciate ligaments. Gorrer was placed on injured reserve and will undergo surgery.
Cason was last with the Carolina Panthers before being released recently. He has 58 tackles, four forced fumbles and two interceptions this season.
Cason, 28, worked out for the Chicago Bears late last week. He was a first-round pick of the San Diego Chargers in 2008 out of Arizona.
For his career, Cason has 380 tackles, 16 interceptions, 64 passes defended and eight forced fumbles.
