The Ravens made another roster move Wednesday, signing safety Jermaine Whitehead from the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad and adding him to their active roster. Whitehead is an undrafted rookie out of Auburn.

Tight end Richard Gordon was released to accomodate Whitehead's signing.

The Ravens also signed running back Alonzo Harris to their practice squad. Harris, an undrafted rookie out of Louisiana-Lafayette, was cut by the Green Bay Packers this season after he and fellow running back Eddie Lacy missed curfew. Harris takes the practice squad spot that was vacated when running back DuJuan Harris was signed to the 49ers' active roster.

The Ravens had five players not practicing today: wide receiver Marlon Brown (back), right tackle Rick Wagner (foot/ankle), tight end Richard Gordon, linebacker Albert McClellan (ankle) and cornerback Jimmy Smith (hamstring).

Brown has missed four straight games and hasn't practiced in a month. McClellan also missed Sunday's loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and was in the locker room after the game with a boot on his foot.

Smith hurt his hamstring while trying to chase down Charcandrick West on the rookie's 38-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Ravens coach John Harbaugh expressed hope that Smith will be ready to play Sunday.
