During the high-profile College Station workout on Thursday for Johnny Manziel, the Texas A&M quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner nicknamed Johnny Football, the Ravens were among the 30 NFL teams in attendance.
The Ravens' were there, however, to evaluate imposing Aggies wide receiver Mike Evans, according to league sources.
The 6-foot-5, 231-pounder had a leaping catch on a long post pattern toward the end of the workout, which was televised live on ESPN and NFL Network.
Manziel, throwing tight spirals and completing 64 of 66 passes (one accurate throw was dropped and another was caught out of bounds by Evans), put on a show with former President George H.W. Bush watching along with Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien.
Evans, meanwhile, looked athletic and sure-handed. The receiver met with the Ravens at the NFL scouting combine in February, where he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds and had a 37-inch vertical leap.
