Since Jeromy Miles replaced Darian Stewart as the Ravens' starting strong safety last month, he has stabilized a previously shaky position.
Miles has graded out solidly in three starts, and he recorded his first NFL interception Sunday during a 20-12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
"We did an excellent job all week with [secondary coach Steve Spagnuolo] getting guys ready, rotating guys in and giving them different looks," Miles said. "It was a good overall defensive effort."
For the season, the former special teams standout has 19 defensive tackles, one forced fumble and a blocked field goal. He has five special teams tackles.
"Yes, Jeromy has done a good job," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said. "He has always played well for us wherever he has played, special teams or defense, as you pointed [out], and he has carried it over into defense. He has played good, solid football back there.
"He has been in the right spot, made tackles, has done a good job. He continues to improve, and we want to continue to improve and get better and see where it takes us."
