Ravens running back Terrance West expects to be booed in return to Cleveland

Terrance West is realistic about the reception he expects to get from Cleveland Browns fans when he returns to FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday as a member of their AFC North rival Ravens.

"They'll probably boo me," he said after Wednesday's practice. "I'm pretty sure they'll boo me."

Asked how he felt about being greeted in that manner, West replied, "I don't care. I block that all out anyway whenever I go onto the field."

To be fair, Browns fans might still be salty that West, Cleveland's third-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft, did not pan out as they had hoped. In his rookie campaign, West (Northwestern High, Towson University) rushed for 673 yards and four touchdowns in 14 games, including six starts. He was stuck in a rotation with Ben Tate and Isaiah Crowell before getting traded to the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 6, 2015.

Last season, West played for the Titans and the Ravens. He traveled to Cleveland as a member of each organization, which is why he doesn't put much stock in returning to the city again this weekend.

"It's just another game," he said. "It's not about me going back to Cleveland. It's about the Baltimore Ravens going up there and playing the Cleveland Browns. It's not about Terrance West going back to Cleveland. That's not even my home. So like I said, it's just another game."

The 5-foot-10, 225-pound West is more concerned with improving on his 12-carry, 32-yard showing in Sunday's 13-7 win against the Buffalo Bills at M&T Bank Stadium. He said his goal against the Browns – and any other team on the schedule – is to reach 100 yards.

"I played a good game, a physical game," West said. "I had some footwork [issues], but I'll fix that in practice this week. Overall, I did pretty good. I had a good start. I didn't get too many yards, but I'll make up for that this week."
