PITTSBURGH — One week after his best performance as a pro, rookie running back Lorenzo Taliaferro lost a costly fumble in the Ravens' 43-23 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Taliaferro's fumble in the second quarter directly led to the Steelers' first touchdown and erased the Ravens' early lead.

"I've got to do a better job of protecting the ball," said Taliaferro, who lost the fumble on a tackle by Steelers linebacker Arthur Moats.

Taliaferro said his confidence wasn't affected by the turnover, one of two the Ravens had in the first half that led to Steelers touchdowns.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Taliaferro said. "I just got to get back to work."

Taliaferro rushed for two touchdowns the previous week in a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. He went back into Sunday's game after the fumble, finishing with seven carries for 21 yards and three receptions for 34 yards.

For the season, Taliaferro has rushed for 247 yards and four touchdowns with seven catches for 94 yards.

The Ravens play the Tennessee Titans next Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium.

"That's behind us now," Taliaferro said of the loss. "We've got to focus on Tennessee. You treat every loss the same. At the end of the day, there's only one outcome. Either you win or you lose."
