Ravens rookie inside linebacker C.J. Mosley was fined $8,268 by the NFL for unnecessary roughness during the season-opener against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to the league.
Mosley was penalized in the second quarter for his late hit on Bengals running back Giovani Bernard where the first-round draft pick from Alabama struck Bernard after he had already been tackled.
Under the NFL collective bargaining agreement, Mosley can file an appeal to try to have the fine reduced or removed.
Meanwhile, Ravens wide receiver Kamar Aiken wasn't fined by the NFL for his personal foul where he got into an altercation with Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones during a kickoff return.
Aiken got a stern lecture from Ravens special-teams coordinator Jerry Rosburg on the sideline after the penalty.
