Ravens rookie left guard Alex Lewis could have played vs. Raiders 'if needed'

Rookie left guard Alex Lewis was dressed in his uniform and standing on the sideline during the Ravens' 28-27 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium. But Lewis missed the first game of his fledgling career after just being cleared from the concussion protocol to return to practice on Friday.Asked if he could have played against Oakland, the organization's fourth-round pick in the 2016 NFL draft replied, &quot;If needed. That's why I dressed. But it's not my call to make. It's the guys above me, and our guys fought really hard and well together. I couldn't be more proud of them.&quot;Lewis had started the first three games before suffering the concussion in the fourth quarter of a 19-17 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 25. Ryan Jensen, who played the final 10 snaps for Lewis in Jacksonville, made his first start of the season at left guard on Sunday.Jensen was flagged once for holding and once for a false start and was part of an offensive line that allowed quarterback Joe Flacco to get sacked twice and hit six times. But Lewis wasn't about to criticize his teammates.&quot;We're going to go watch tape, we're going to learn from it, and we're going to move on,&quot; he said. &quot;We're going to get better.&quot;Coach John Harbaugh noted that Lewis' absence from practice on Wednesday and Thursday before participating on a limited basis on Friday made the decision to go with Jensen an easy one.&quot;We just felt like the guys that had practiced all week, that didn't have that particular issue all week, would have a chance to perform and play better,&quot; Harbaugh said. &quot;… It would have been tough for him to do that without a week of practice.&quot;Lewis' availability for Sunday's game against the Washington Redskins will likely be determined by his workload in practice this week. But Lewis said he intends to play.&quot;That's what I'm going to try to do,&quot; he said. &quot;I'm going to try to get out there.&quot;
