The Ravens officially signed tight end Phillip Supernaw to their practice squad Wednesday night, according to a league source.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh had said previously the team intended to re-sign Supernaw. He cleared waivers after being released from the 53-man roster Tuesday.
The 6-foot-5, 248-pound reserve tight end caught one pass for minus-two yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. It was his first NFL regular-season reception.
Supernaw was previously with the Houston Texans after going undrafted out of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, where he was a four-year starter.
At Ouachita Baptist, Supernaw caught 64 passes for 710 yards and 10 touchdowns as a sophomore and was named first-team All-Gulf South Conference. He was later a two-time all-conference second-team selection.
