Ravens re-sign Lawrence Guy to two-year, $2.3 million contract

Veteran defensive end Lawrence Guy has re-signed with the Ravens on a two-year, $2.3 million contract that included a $500,000 signing bonus.

Guy was scheduled to visit the New York Jets on Thursday, according to an NFL source, but decided to remain with the Ravens. He had a veteran minimum offer on the table from the Jets.

Guy was claimed off waivers last season after being cut by the San Diego Chargers following the first three weeks of the regular season.

The 6-foot-4, 318-pound defender had 16 tackles and a fumble recovery in 11 games and one start last season for the Ravens as he emerged as a solid rotational player.

Guy is a 2011 Green Bay Packers seventh-round NFL draft pick from Arizona State.

The 25-year-old has also played for the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Redskins

He had 21 tackles and one sack in nine games with the Colts during the 2012 season. For his career, Guy has 54 tackles and one sack.
