Ravens veteran tight end Billy Bajema knows the drill by now.
He's essentially on speed dial with the Ravens' personnel department, as he's been frequently moved on and off the roster all season.
The Ravens re-signed Bajema and cut running back Shaun Draughn on Thursday morning.
It's the fourth transaction involving Bajema, a blocking tight end, in the last week.
"Yeah, they've always been real upfront and I've felt like each time I'd be ready to come back and it probably wouldn't be long," Bajema said. "It's the reality of the NFL, and you kind of deal with it, and it's tough to be at home when the team is practicing. As long as you're there on gameday, it's OK. I don't anticipate it happening again anytime soon."
Bajema was cut Thursday when the Ravens made their trade official for offensive tackle Eugene Monroe. He was re-signed Saturday when the Ravens cut wide receiver Brandon Stokley. Then, Bajema was released Tuesday when the Ravens re-signed Stokley. Now, he's back again.
Bajema was released during the final major roster cutdown in training camp then re-signed when the Ravens placed tight end Dennis Pitta (hip surgery) on the injured reserve-designated to return list.
Bajema has caught one pass for 18 yards this season.
"They know that I can come back and be ready," Bajema said. "And they trust me and I trust them. It's been giving them the leeway to make the roster moves they want to make, knowing that I'll be back and I'm part of this team. It's one of the realities of the NFL, and you just deal with it as a player."
